Moving to America from Belarus, Gary Vaynerchuk proves that living the “American dream” is possible. Of course, that is if you hustle enough, as you will find out later.
His first accomplishment was exponentially growing his father’s wine business, taking is from a “modest” $3 millions per year to over $60 millions per year.
Did he then just sat on his laurels? Of course he didn’t.
He went on with multiple successes in online business. Also, he decided to become a writer and teach people how to be a successful entrepreneur.
If you’re here to find out which of his quotes were the most influential in the lives of the young and hungry entrepreneurs, then you’re in the right place. In this article we will analyze Gary’s most inspiring advices to this day.
Best Quotes By Gary Vaynerchuk
1. People are chasing cash, not happiness. When you chase money, you’re going to lose. You’re just going to. Even if you get the money, you’re not going to be happy.
This is a very solid advice that was misunderstood by a lot of people, including myself. What do you mean that even if I get the cash I wouldn’t be happy?
Think about this: Most people do things just for the money. What would you choose: have a 9 to 5 job that you hate but that you 50k per month? Or would you rather own a small business that you love and that pays you less?
I think we both know the answer to that question. If you love your business, it’s just a matter of time until you get more money out of it.
2. I’m just always looking forward. I spend very little time, looking backward.
If something already happened, then what’s the point of losing time thinking about it? It’s not like you can change the outcome of something from the past.
What you can change is what didn’t happen yet. And that’s what you should focus on doing.
3. Your legacy is being written by yourself. Make the right decisions.
Most of us don’t realize that we are wasting so much time on useless stuff. Watching Netflix, eating junk food …
At some point in our lives, we realize that the most important thing is what you leave behind. Of course, children are the most important part of human’s lives since the beginning of time.
But what else can we leave behind apart from that? Something big that would help or inspire people.
Think about Bruce Lee. He died when he was only 33 years old, and we still remember him and we will likely talk about him a long time from now.
4. It’s simple. Be a good person and good things happen.
Again, Gary emphasizes to try to do nice things for other people. Or as he would probably tell you in person: “don’t be a d*ck“.
If you provide value to other people and not expect much in return, then voilá. Good things will start happen to you to.
You get what you give. Because God sees everything.

5. Time – the one asset none of us are ever going to get more of.
This is arguably my favorite one. Whenever I catch myself wasting time watching stupid YouTube videos, I think of people lying on their death bed. Do you think they would like to have more money? Or more time?
Also, it’s good to think about the movie Titanic. It really emphasizes the importance of time.
No matter how much money you have, your most important resource will always be time. Because unfortunately you can’t get it back.
6. Skills are cheap. Passion is priceless
Everyone can learn any skill. If you were to start studying quantum physics right now, you will likely learn is. But will you learn it at Albert Einstein’s level? Probably now.
And that’s not because of the difference of IQ. But because of the passion.
7. You didn’t grow up driving. You figured it out
Another inspiring one from Gary. Everyone starts more or less from the same position. Not knowing anything.
We need to make decisions and learn as much as possible in this life. Even the basic things like driving a car … or building a billion dollar social media agency like Gary :).
8. There is never a bad time to start a business. Unless you start a mediocre one.
I confess that I printed out this quote and put it in my office. This is one of my favorite business quotes of all time.
If your goal is to have a great business, then there’s nothing that can stop you. Good times, bad times … it’s all the same.
If you have the dedication and will to wake up at 5 A. M. every day and just start working, then who can stop you?
Hopefully you feel more motivated and happy about starting a business. Make no mistake: it’s very hard at the beginning.
But once you get the ball rolling and you learn more and more stuff every day, it starts getting enjoyable. There’s nothing like being your own boss and not needing to work as a corporate slave. I’m sure you feel the same way too.
If you want to learn more about business, I highly recommend taking the OFA challenge. It’s the best business course I ever took. You can thank me later.
