That’s it. If you remember this and you do your best to find high volume and low competition keywords, write a quality piece of content (it doesn’t need to be written like Shakespeare’s poetry. Just do your best) and acquire backlinks from high authority websites, you will get A LOT of traffic.
Also, every once in a while you will need to do an audit, to check the overall health of your website. But don’t spend too much time focusing on that.
Keyword research is the first step in this process. And SEMrush does make your life easier when trying to find good keywords.

As mentioned above, SEMrush offers you everything you need from a keyword tool and more. It’s actually an all in one SEO tool, as I mentioned in another article.
There are millions of keywords in their database. Also, some key features that you can expect are:
- Keyword difficulty (a score from 0 to 100 which tells you how difficult it would be to rank for a keyword. As you probably knew, 0 is the easiest, while 100 is … impossible)
- CPC (cost per click. This is the amount of money people who run Google ads pay for that specific keyword. A high CPC means that there is a lot of buyer intent)
- Search volume (how many times a specific keyword is searched every month. It usually is higher than what SEMrush tells you)
These are the main metrics that I am looking at when doing my keyword research. The keyword magic tool is very accurate, and I was able to find many keywords using it.

I suggest to try it out for free first. You can get a trial and if you don’t like it, then at least export as many keywords as possible so that you can use them in your SEO efforts.
