WHAT IS GETRESPONSE?
GetResponse is an email marketing softwares with a lot of cool features, such as easily collecting leads, automating workflow or analyzing how the campaigns are going (more on these features later).
The company was started in 1998 and has now over 350.000 users, making it one of the most respectable and established email marketing software companies.
It was started with the aim of being a full email marketing platform, but in the past years it has become more of an all-in-one marketing tool.(1)
So what does this mean? Well, now it also provides the ability to create landing pages, webinar hosting and sales funnels.
How good does GetResponse perform these features? More on that later.

GETRESPONSE KEY FEATURES
GetResponse has one of the best variety of features when compared to other competitors such as Aweber or MailChimp. It not only offers the basic features of any email marketing software, but as you found out earlier, it recently added new features that are mostly offered by sales funnel builders.(2)
Now let’s have a look at all the features and whether or not GetResponse lives up to the hype of being an all-in-one marketing platform.
AUTORESPONDER
This is a feature that basically all email marketing platforms offer by default. Why would you invest in such a software if you can’t even automate your campaigns?
Autoresponders allow you to schedule when your subscribers receive your emails. For example, you can send a welcome message right after someone signs up on your list and have them receive the second email a couple of days later (this is highly recommended because you don’t want your subscribers to feel that you’re spamming them).
GetResponse has the best autoresponder feature that I saw in any email marketing software. Why?
Because it allows you to do basically anything you want in order to maximize your profits. For example, you can have your subscriber receive an email at a certain time (as you found out earlier) or you can have them receive your next email when they perform an action.(3)
This is great as it allows you to optimize your campaigns in such a way that you make as much money as possible, as well as giving your subscribers the best possible experience.
Two of the most used actions that trigger you next emails are clicks and opens. People use them so often because they are the most reliable ways to find out if your leads are interested in a particular topic or product.
MARKETING AUTOMATION
This is GetResponse’s latest version of their autoresponder function. It is easily my favorite feature of this software.
It’s basically a drag and drop builder that allows you to have a better view of your workflow. You will have an easier time understanding your campaigns, as it’s laid out in a very simple format.(4)
The offer this function for all the plans apart from the basic one (more on that later).
E-NEWSLETTER TEMPLATES
This is an entire library of templates that you can modify to your liking. There are currently more than 220 templates (you will probably not need so many) . The selling point is the variety because they have templates suitable for any kind of campaign that you can think of.(5)
Also, most of them look really cool.

ANALYTICS
In order to see if your campaigns are working properly, you need some kind of tool in order to do so. GetResponse does a really good job in terms of analyzing your click through rates, open rates, unsubscribe rates, etc.
I found this feature much more comprehensive than its competitors, as it offers a much bigger variety in functions.(6)
LANDING PAGE CREATOR
As you found out earlier, GetResponse recently added some new features that transforms it into more of an all-in-one marketing platform as opposed to just an email marketing software.
I haven’t seen any of their competitors offer a landing page creator. This is why GetResponse has recently become so popular.
They not only offer a landing page creator, but you can also track your conversion rates. Which is huge because you can see if your campaign is working or if you need to change something.
As I told you in the beginning, there are some problems with this feature. I found it to be a bit buggy.(7)
In my opinion, if you want a landing page creator, you’ll be better off with something like Kartra. Don’t get me wrong, it pretty cool that GetResponse offer this, but in my opinion, Kartra is better when it comes to landing pages and sales funnels.
WEBINARS
As I mentioned earlier, one of the recently added features is the ability to host webinars. Any internet marketer knows that the main goal of a webinar is to collect leads in order to get them to buy your products later in your email sequences.
If you ask me, the webinar feature is very useful and I found myself using it quite a bit. It’s very nice to have email marketing and webinars in the same platform.(8)

SUPPORT
In my opinion, GetResponse has the best customer support from all the email marketing softwares that I used. You can contact them via live chat and obviously email.
The live chat support is particularly easy to use. Also, they offer email support in 8 languages 🙂
Honestly, I contacted support just 2 times for the purpose of this article. I wanted to test it in order to tell you guys how it is.(9)
It’s good. But the thing to take into consideration here is that before I wrote this article, I didn’t have to contact support even once. And that’s quite impressive.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT GETRESPONSE
It’s more affordable than what their competitors offer. Also, it offers a ton of features for the price that they ask.
In terms of value, you get more than what you pay for. I can’t say the same about most of the other email marketing softwares.
If you decide to pay yearly, they offer you a hefty discount which you will really like.
As I mentioned above, the marketing automation is great. You will really like it once you start playing with it.(10)
The webinar hosting function is a great addition, as it offers a very cool advantage over the other email marketing softwares.
The deliverability is great. It’s the best I’ve seen so far. My subscribers actually receive all the emails I send them.
Customer support is good. You will likely not need to use it as the platform is intuitive enough.
WHAT I DON’T LIKE ABOUT GETRESPONSE
Apart from the landing page creator (I use Kartra’s landing page creator anyway), there’s nothing much to complain about. I mean, you invest in this software for its email marketing features and not for the sales funnels and landing pages.(11)
For that, I would highly recommend Kartra.

Basic: starting at $15/month (you can send unlimited emails to up to 1.000 subscribers)
Plus: starting at $49/month for up to 1.000 subscribers
Professional: starting at $99/month for up to 1.000 subscribers

If you decide to pay yearly, there are a couple of very cool discounts ranging from 18% to 30%. If you’re serious about your online business, you probably want to do that.(12)
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PLANS
You might wonder why there is an increase in price between the plans, while the number of subscribers stays the same. First, let’s have a look at what features all the plans have in common:

These are just some of the basic features that you expect with any email marketing platform. There are many more that I will not cover in this article, as you can probably imagine that it will take a long time.(13)
Now let’s have a look at the differences between the plans:
Conversion funnels: available on the Plus plan (only 5 funnels). This feature is also available with the Professional plan, as you can imagine
Marketing automation: available on the Plus and Professional plans (the plus plan has a limit of 5 automations). In your place, I would go with the Plus plan only for this feature. It’s really worth it.

GetResponse is one of the best, if not the best email marketing platforms. You will surely find a ton of value when using it.
Also, make sure you take advantage of the automation feature. It can drastically increase your earnings.
